Over 200 villages in the Fulgazi Parshuram and Chagalnaiya Upazilas in Feni have been inundated by floodwaters, marking the third round of flooding in the region this year.

Children Among the Victims

Many of the fatalities in the floods have been young children, highlighting the devastating impact of the disaster.

Historic Floods Batter the Region

Northeast Bangladesh is experiencing its worst floods in over a century, surpassing the severity of the previous two rounds of flooding that occurred earlier this year.

Government Response

The Bangladeshi government has reported that 68 people have died from flood-related causes since mid-May, including drowning, electrocutions, and landslides.

Ongoing Assistance

Efforts are underway to provide assistance to those affected by the flooding, including food, water, and shelter. However, the scale of the disaster is posing challenges to relief operations.
