Regis Le Bris Makes One Big Change to Sunderland XI Amid Injury Setbacks

Sunderland boss Regis Le Bris has been forced to make one change to his starting line-up for Saturday's League One clash with Lincoln City.

Midfielder Corry Evans has not recovered from a knock in time to feature, so Luke O'Nien will start in his place.

Otherwise, Le Bris has named an unchanged side from the one that beat Portsmouth 1-0 last weekend.

Le Bris said he was pleased with his team's performance against Portsmouth and is hoping for more of the same against Lincoln.

"We played very well against Portsmouth," he said. "We were solid defensively and created a lot of chances going forward.

"I'm hoping for more of the same against Lincoln. They're a good side, but I'm confident that we can get three points."

Sunderland will be looking to make it three wins in a row when they take on Lincoln at the Stadium of Light on Saturday.

The Black Cats are currently 11th in League One, but they are just three points outside the play-off places.

A win against Lincoln would see them move up to eighth in the table and close the gap on the top six.

Predicted Sunderland XI:

  • Patterson
  • Gooch
  • Batth
  • Cirkin
  • O'Nien
  • Embleton
  • Neil
  • Clarke
  • Pritchard
  • Stewart
  • Broadhead
